Healthy Skin Tips

Drink plenty of water and eliminate or moderate your consumption of caffeine & alcohol. Water flushes out excess toxins from the body and provides needed moisture.

Diet: Your skin and body need wholesome, raw, unprocessed foods daily for optimum health.  Choose these foods over processed and refined varieties whenever possible.

Sunshine:
10 - 15 minutes of daily sunshine provides you with necessary Vitamin D and can heal the skin. Use sunscreen if you will be out in the sun for longer periods.

If you smoke, quit!
Skin hates tar and nicotine.

Exercise daily - a brisk walk will do.

Get a good night’s sleep.

Limit cleansing of your skin to twice daily.  Over cleansing, no matter what your skin type, strips your skin of its protective barrier and causes an over-production of sebum and oil, thus destroying the skinís natural balance.

Rinse skin often (without over cleansing) using cool or tepid water. Hot water can irritate the skin.

Finish with a toner to remove all residual soap and restore the skinís pH balance.

Moisturize according to your skin type to hydrate, and keep skin soft and supple.

Exfoliate skin a few times per week to remove dead skin cells and improve blood circulation to the skin surface.  Use a mild scrub cleanser or a soft-bristle dry skin brush.

Lower your stress. When you are relaxed and at peace, your skin glows! To lower stress, stop judging yourself and others. Instead, disengage your emotions from the situation, take some slow, deep breathes, and slip into a neutral state. Neutral is in this NOW moment where there is no past or future worries. Make your decisions from this objective state.  The outcome will be positive and powerful.

Laugh often and with others! Laugh from your belly and get the tears flowing.

Express Gratitude and Appreciation constantly!
